Candy Dispenser
The goal of this project was the create a candy dispenser with four assembled pieces and four new candy pieces. This project utilizes the program Inventor 2014, and uses sketches both by hand and online to show the work.
Design Brief
Client Company: Leading Candy Company
Target Consumer: Children ages 5-12
Designers: Rose Gebhardt and Kristen Troise
Problem Statement: The Candy Company is celebrating its 50th year anniversary and would like to provide consumers with a candy dispenser that will house the four existing bite-size candies that they currently produce. They also want new shapes created for each candy.
Design Statement: Design and model a new hand-held dispensing system.
Constraints:

Design Statement: Design and model a new hand-held dispensing system.
Constraints:
- It must be durable
- It must fit into a box with dimensions of 8 by 4 by 4
- It must assemble a minimum of four different parts
- It must hold four different candy shapes
- The candies cannot exceed the dimensions of .5 by .5 by .5
Concept
The idea of this project was to make a portable, portable candy dispenser that will be visually appealing as well as functional. Ideas were drawn from some classical candy dispensers and candy shapes.
Pez Candy Dispenser
The idea of Pez is pretty simple. The square candy is stored in the bottom section, and the top section opens up and will release one candy at a time. This is appealing to the target age because the top can be any shape or character. The only problem with this design for the project is that it requires holding four new candy shes, but the base for Pez dispensers can only hold one.

Classic Gumball Machine
The gumball machine was were most of the design for the new dispenser came from. It fixes the problem with the Pez dispenser because it can hold a variety of candies. There were some edits to this design, mainly the size. The new dispenser it on a much smaller scale than most gumball machines, and because it's handheld, rather than turning a knob, candy is released by pulling out a slide that holds the candy inside the container so it can fall out.

Solution
In this solution, the container hold the candy, and the cover allows for candy to be put in and taken out of the container. At the bottom of the container and the top of the base there is is .707 by .707 square hole that lets the candy slide down the dispenser. At the bottom of the dispenser there is another hole that, if turned, lets the candy fall into the consumer's hand. The slide toward the top of the base would allow the consumer to control the candy flow. If the slide is pushed in the candy flow will stop, and when taken out, the candy will fall out of the dispenser.
